How I’m Using Ubersuggest to Rank Organically on Google in 2025

As a website designer in Bristol, I know that great design is only half the job. If clients (and my own business) can’t be found on Google, the website isn’t doing its job. That’s why I’ve made SEO a core part of my work — and one of my favourite tools for tracking progress is Ubersuggest.
Recently, my Ubersuggest dashboard has shown some exciting gains for my own site, especially on keywords small businesses actually type into Google:
- web page designer near me – climbed from position 63 → 8
- designer websites limited – up from 38 → 30
- bristol website designer – up from 55 → 52
- web page designer – up from 100 → 73
- website designer in bristol – up from 100 → 82
1. Tracking the Right Keywords
Instead of chasing random keywords, I focused on the phrases my potential customers use most:
- “web page designer near me” (high local intent)
- “designer websites limited” (brand comparison)
- “bristol website designer” (location-based)
- “web page designer” and “website designer in bristol” (broad service keywords)
This local + service combo helps me reach people who are ready to hire, not just browse.

2. Creating Content Around Search Intent
I created content that answers what people want to know:
- Guides like the Bristol Small Business Website Buyer’s Guide 2025
- Blogs comparing platforms, hosting, and compliance topics (like accessibility and consent banners)
- Service pages optimised with the target keywords naturally in headings, meta titles, and CTAs
3. Building Internal Links
Whenever I post a new article, I link it back to my main Website Design Bristol page.
This signals to Google which pages are most important and strengthens rankings for phrases like “website designer in bristol.”
4. Monitoring SEO Difficulty & Adjusting Strategy
Ubersuggest’s SEO Difficulty scores show me which keywords are realistically achievable for a small business site.
For example:
- “web page designer near me” had a difficulty of 54 — challenging but worth the effort.
- “bristol website designer” is tougher (59), so I’m supporting it with blogs and backlinks.
5. Publishing Consistently
Regularly publishing new blog posts — like hosting comparisons and buyer’s guides — keeps the site fresh.
This steady flow of localised content has helped me rise from page 6–10 up into the top 10 for some terms.
What This Means for Small Business Owners
If you’re looking for a web page designer near me or comparing agencies like Designer Websites Limited, organic rankings matter — they’re often the first impression your future customers see.
By sharing how I optimise for search, I hope to show small businesses that smart, consistent SEO can get you seen without paying for ads.
